Mueller Brass Company

Fulton, MS | Client: Mueller Copper Tube Company

Since the 1970s, Mueller Brass Company has been a long time customer of JESCO’s and together we have completed numerous additions including the original tube mill facility, the casting facility, the copper fittings plant, and line-set plant. The traditional building delivery system used for the Mueller Brass projects has been Design / Build. This approach has served this partnership well throughout the years by reducing the delivery schedule, increasing design and construction efficiency and thereby reducing disruption of processes.

The tube mill is 402,000 square feet facility utilized heavy conventional Structural steel framing and eight to twelve inch floor slabs to accommodate heavy wheel loading. The building also consists of eighteen feet concrete tilt wall panels with metal siding above and built-up roofing.

The continuous cast facility is approximately 100,000 square feet with multiple levels. It includes both Maerz and Southwire furnaces, bucket elevators, along with a casting line. JESCO’s Mechanical and Electrical Division provided the design including: inert gases, compressed air, furnace cooling water, electrical and controls.

JESCO’s Millwright Division performed the installation of the equipment in the original facility, which included horizontal extrusion press, billet casting, draw benches, draw blocks, finishing machines, annealing furnaces and turn machines. JESCO Millwright, also installed much of the original equipment in the fittings facility, casting plant and has performed general maintenance work for this facility on an ongoing basis.
