Caterpillar – NLR

Project Overview

JESCO, through the aggressive program requirements of the Owner, successfully completed renovations to the existing 750,000 square feet distribution center by converting the facility into a state-of-the-art manufacturing and assembly plant for Caterpillar, Inc. The project began immediately following JESCO’s completion of storm damage repairs to Caterpillar’s High Performance Extrusions plant located in Oxford, Mississippi, utilizing virtually the same JESCO team of personnel and diverse divisions.

The project’s major demolition and renovations consisted of reframing of concrete tilt-up wall panels to open up existing interior spaces, removal and replacement of 450,000 square feet of floor slabs to meet new loading requirements, pits and foundations for process equipment and retrofitting existing structural steel to accommodate newly installed overhead cranes. In addition, two large mezzanines were constructed to meet the needs of the facility’s complete MEP upgrade. Project was successfully completed on time and within the Owner’s budget.
