MAAS Paint Hangar

Project Overview

MAAS Mobile, LLC a partnership between Ireland based MAAS Aviation and JESCO, Inc. constructed this 34,000 square foot Paint Shop Hangar at Brookley Field on the Mobile Aeroplex site for Airbus Americas. The construction of the airplane paint hangar called for heavy reinforced, pile supported concrete floors with grade beams. The project scope includes tunnels constructed underneath the hangar floor for air ventilation. JESCO Mechanical-Electrical Division designed a system that addressed airflow and controlled humidity based on painting activity.

Heavy structural steel trusses provide clear span of 175’ using pre-engineered roofing and wall panels. Additional MEP systems included: air compression systems, explosion proof devices in hangar, fire alarm, wet / dry sprinklers to include a foam deluge system.
